- 在这首歌中“Pierrot”可以看作是游戏中众多“王”的心路历程。
- “Pierrot”（lit. “小丑”）是意大利艺术喜剧（Italian comedia dell'arte）的一个类型角色（stock character）。经常被描绘成傻瓜，惹人耻笑，但可以信赖；在故事的最后，被自己的爱人科伦拜（Columbine）抛弃，而后者喜欢的是哈勒昆（Harlequin，lit. “丑角”）。
- 艺术喜剧塑造的这种“悲伤的小丑”（sad clown）的形象自首次登场以来，逐渐成为“每个人”（everyman）的代名词——在合乎社会规范的、合适得体的面具之下，隐藏着一颗情绪使然的、天真的心灵。
