The second young lady of the Mortari family, an investor with extraordinary aesthetic taste. She carries herself with elegance, yet remains unconstrained by rules.
For a future more beneficial to the family, she moves between dual identities, resolving certain "troubles" that are difficult to speak of.
Ability >> Dimensional Reshaping
She integrates artistic beauty into her killing moves, offering a tribute of death with crystals of sufficient brilliance.
Blooming, withering... the magnificent dance steps achieve a balance. Beneath the final curtain, everything returns to silence once more.
To catch the family traitors, Colette went to Nayara to retrieve commissioned weapons such as "perfume," "powder cases," and "jewelry sets." Along the way, she observed the Rover and Zhezhi, who were investigating the attackers, and informed them that Gilbert had customized a similar mask when they asked for clues.
When the Rover and Zhezhi were mistakenly attacked by the vault guards, Colette arrived to stop the crisis and revealed her identity. She entered the vault with the Rover to find Uncle Coppola, but since he wasn't there, she decided to change her approach. After explaining that her goals aligned with the Rover's and convincing them to work together, Colette tasked Zhezhi with archiving evidence, retrieving weapons, and guarding the storage room to protect the evidence. She then split up with the Rover to take the vault's emergency passages, aiming to round up the traitors all at once.
As she was opening the final door to the meeting point to regroup with the Rover, the alarm sounded. Colette moved swiftly, demonstrating her agility before her path could be completely sealed, and reached the final door, successfully reuniting with the Rover's help and witness. To the Rover's surprise, Colette revealed her other identity—the Family's Executor. The two entered the Tuning Room, captured the traitorous Tuner, learned about the existence of the anomalous Echoes, and found a Fractidus petal.
Colette took the Rover to the Echo Room to answer their questions regarding the Sentinel's oracle received from the Lapis Blade-dancer. The Lapis Blade-dancer originated from the frequency of the stained glass windows; the Sentinel used it to convey the hope of uncovering Rinascita's hidden history and exposing the Order's pilgrimage scam. This aligned perfectly with the Mortari Family's goals, so Colette decided to take the Rover to the Church's forbidden area, the Tower Ruins.
After the Rover restored the glass painting in the Tower Ruins, Rinascita's long-buried history was brought to light. Shocked by the Order's creation of fake miracles to cover up history, Colette recalled the "Pilgrimage Road" and the pilgrims created by the Order. Just as she intended to take the Rover to the northern islands, the Order arrived to corner them, using Uncle Coppola as a hostage and the Mortari Family's interests to blackmail Colette into executing the Rover. Colette intentionally missed, hitting a precarious wall of the Tower Ruins to "bury" the Rover. Afterward, Colette returned with the Order.
The Order's scheme was exposed, and the head of the Mortari Family, "Grandfather," stepped in to deal with the Order and rescue Uncle Coppola.
To avoid causing panic among the Carnival crowds and to thwart the schemes of the Order and the Fractidus, the Troupe of Fools decided to rehearse a play to mask the potential incidents at the Carnival. Colette and the Rover became the protagonists of this play.
During the Carnival, the attack by the anomalous Echoes arrived as expected. Following the many rehearsals of the stage play, Colette and the Rover repelled the Echoes under the cover of the Troupe's performance and finally faced the mastermind behind the attack, Phrolova of the Fractidus.
After the Carnival crisis ended, the Rover asked Colette to investigate Catricia, the name of a girl the Rover had seen. After asking Phoebe, Colette learned that Catricia was the original name of Saintess Flutura, who was supposed to have been martyred 20 years ago.
While the Rover was on the way to Fort Portivino, Colette sent a transmission stating that if Vesali intended to harm the Rover, she would rush in to protect them, and she continued to assist the Rover during their appointment.

That night, rain pattered against the window frames, stirring up a damp scent; the air was like fermented bitter wine. Coletta disliked the smell, but she had to admit the weather had its benefits. Travelers who couldn't be stopped even by the pouring rain harbored desires that were by no means easily satisfied—and more difficult desires meant intentions that were harder to conceal.
As for herself... this was a gamble, and she intended to control the outcome.
Time flowed as the works on stage came and went under the soft lighting, displayed one by one. Below, people spoke in hushed tones, analyzing the market value of each piece as if they were merely chips waiting to be sold. Art is pure, but the business of art is not. When value-based investment is involved, every transaction is a promise and a wager on the future. But even so, she would still raise her paddle for works that were not favored by the mainstream. Every bid was akin to a small-scale gamble: was it meaningless geometric light and shadow, or a deconstructive expression true to oneself... Time soon revealed the answer, with returns far exceeding expectations. As skepticism turned into conviction, more and more people sought her favor, guided by her choices. Yet she knew clearly that, fundamentally, she had merely constructed a framework using theoretical knowledge, aesthetics, liquidity, and other criteria, only to step outside its constraints to see further and more clearly. Just like, for instance, this very moment—
Countdown, bid; countdown, bid... The rounds continued, the increasingly short intervals pushing the atmosphere to a fever pitch. The woman's eyes widened at the soaring numbers, her face filled with disbelief. The child's head turned left and right following the sound of the bids, nearly forgetting to breathe. Finally, just as the auctioneer was about to drop the gavel, Colette did not bid again. She simply waved her hand at the guest and sighed with regret, "I truly cannot believe that besides me, there is someone else who can see the value of this painting, even to the point of raising the price this much... Well, according to the rules, it is yours now."
She watched the guest depart satisfied with the painting, then slipped away into a dark corner. The child who had been waiting for a long time approached and whispered, "Miss, the message you wanted me to spread, I handled it before the start... Tonight there will be a great masterpiece, and Colette of the Mortari family is determined to have it!" Yes, indeed. Colette smiled and handed the agreed-upon reward to him. If he was willing, she wouldn't mind maintaining more intimate, minor collaborations with him. As for the other woman hesitating nearby— "Miss Colette, I am so grateful for everything you have done for me and my father, but, but..." The woman stammered, seemingly ashamed to speak. Colette understandingly took over, "No, tonight's closing price was not inflated. I did use certain methods, but your father's painting is indeed worth that much. It is just that sometimes, people lack sufficient patience."
Someone gained the thrill of being the center of attention, someone gained the opportunity for long-term cooperation, and someone gained material assistance. Everyone got what they wanted, and so did she. Thinking this, Coletta turned and left, disappearing into the night and the rain. |

That night, the rain came suddenly. The curtain of rain poured down, washing over the roadside buildings and making the final moments before midnight even dimmer. Coletta looked up; the lights were dampened layer by layer through the rain, casting flickering wet shadows. She suddenly felt that she, walking through such a curtain of rain, was like a ghost... A ghost? Yes, a spectral ghost haunting the past, refusing to let go until death was offered. This rain could not stop her from finding the person she was looking for.
With a creak, the door was pushed open. Coletta walked straight to the inner room. Having crossed most of Laguna, she stood before the old man nearly forgotten by time and greeted him, "Let's be frank. I am here for only one thing: to read your obituary in the name of Mortari."
The old man cowered like a shadow waiting for fate to descend, but Coletta was disgusted by his show of weakness... What a flippant tone. As if he wasn't the one who had used every trick in the book during the family disputes; as if he hadn't fawned over the Fissare family and launched an attack on the headquarters after Mortari had settled the West District deal, causing the deaths of so many members.
"Heh, you stubborn and cold-blooded Mortari! It's been ten years. Everything ended long ago. You got the West District back, while I've been living in fear like a rat in a gutter... Every rainy night, I worried that a Mortari like you would slip in silently and kill me..." The old man sighed softly, then his expression turned grim as he reached for a hidden compartment containing a weapon. At the same time, Coletta said no more. Instead of a response, she generated a gun and bullets from gem-like crystals.
Members of the Mortari may die, but as long as one Mortari remains alive, the Mortari will not perish. They can safely entrust their backs to their family, and they can sacrifice their lives to sustain more essential values, because they know that another Mortari will finish their unfinished business for them. So even after ten years, this old debt must be settled for it to truly end. This is not just about costs and results, but more about trust and promises; she needs to reclaim the dignity that belongs to the Mortari family.
The fallen body stared resentfully as Coletta's figure slowly faded from view, but he could no longer turn back, nor move even an inch. "Cough, cough... don't think you've won... the game of desire... never ends with death..."
Coletta thought silently as she walked out of the corner, letting the night wind brush against her cheeks and carry away the silence of the room. She closed the door, and a Mortari note printed with "Debt Settled" drifted lightly to the old man's feet. At this point... outside the window is Laguna, inside the door is death. |

That night, rain kept sliding from the tips of Coletta's hair down to her cheeks. She walked forward unsteadily, feeling her limbs grow weak, as if she were drowning in the rain, the fine drizzle nearly swallowing her whole. Suddenly, Coletta felt a bit annoyed at her bad habit of not carrying an umbrella. Perhaps at least she could rest for a moment until the rain passed... but unfortunately, the owners of those increasingly approaching footsteps were not satisfied with her momentary lapse. Then, let her be more focused. Coletta bit her glove and deftly pulled it off her hand, continuing the dance engagement with her opponents, with lives as the stakes.
Coletta was no different. Her gown and heels would not hinder her steps; tonight, she would mingle among the other families to provide cover for the covert operations and buy time.
"You look exceptionally charming tonight, Miss Coletta. Do you have any special plans?" "No, I'm just enjoying an ordinary night, just like you." She placed her hand on the glamorous woman's waist, and the other woman held her forearm in return. Palms joined, shadows swaying, two different skirts fluttered, blooming like flowers. "Is that so? But I feel... your purpose tonight isn't as simple as just coming to dance. You aren't the only one from Mortari here, are you?" "You know, I've always liked appearing in the right place at the right time. Since you're so concerned, tonight must be of extraordinary significance to Fessali." The glamorous woman was the first to change her pace, pulling with her hand in an attempt to take the lead, but Coletta used that momentum to turn herself into an elegant arc, spinning out and then back. "The Order controls the city's future, and we, Fessali... do not intend to let you break the existing order. Mortari's ideas are far too radical." "It's not us who are radical, but your thirst for power. You think you can control everything forever, but the world is not static." The duo's dance steps grew increasingly chaotic amidst the rising scales, at times one pursuing the other closely, at others one maneuvering away from the other. Just as the music reached its climax, the glamorous woman suddenly withdrew her hand, preparing to leave first—the direction she noticed was exactly where the other Mortari members were operating. The operation had to continue, so apologies, but this dance could not end just yet. Coletta grabbed the hand the other woman had withdrawn, pulling her into her own rhythm. Interwoven with the dense vibrato were small, fragmented circular steps; the glamorous woman could find no gap to stop gracefully, nor could she afford to make too much of a scene. She glared at Coletta with resentment, a flash of ruthlessness in her eyes. "Mortari is well-informed. From the beginning, you were after the 'children' I've newly bred... Heh, I hope you're truly prepared to dance until death."
Was the last dance partner who fell just like this? Indeed, how could one who buries others and brings them rest, one who dances with death, be spared by the Reaper?

That night, Coletta knew it was likely raining outside again. Although it wasn't obvious looking directly through the window, if one looked closely, one could notice tiny wet marks deepening the patterns on the window glass. Thinking this, Coletta lifted her hem in front of the mirror. Yes, the wounds from the previous operation were barely visible now, and the toxins had been completely eliminated. She didn't really want to rest; although she had never told anyone, periods of doing nothing made her feel panicked, as if she were missing something. Perhaps she should go ask "Grandfather" again to see if she could continue dealing with those "troubles" as soon as possible.
"Grandfather, are you waiting for me?" "Not entirely. To be precise, I was thinking about how you were when you first joined the family."
The only thing she took pride in was her resonance ability. To Coletta, power was a weapon she instinctively knew how to use. So later, while mastering and adapting to the rules of Mortari, she used her power to handle matters for the family that were inconvenient to speak of. Had something gone wrong in the process? Coletta believed that she now stood in the position most beneficial to the family's future. The family accepted her, affirmed her, and needed her. Now, she was more like "Grandfather's" granddaughter, far more deserving of the name Mortari than she had been back then. But why would "Grandfather" bring up that time to her?
"But... I wish to turn the rough stone into a polished jewel only because the rough stone naturally possesses a brilliant essence. At the very beginning, before you were limited by the concept of Mortari, you were already defining your own rules."
At that time, Colette did not yet know that it was on this rainy night that Grandfather made a decision regarding the future of Mortari. He would, in a special way, hand the initiative of choice over to her, and she would define the path ahead just as her original self had. |

Dusk. There is no more rain today. The afterglow of the setting sun gently brushed over Colette. Holding a cup of coffee, she found a spot at a pier and stopped, watching the gilded tides rise and fall, just like the thousands of days and nights that cycled through this city. Without any purpose, just stopping and starting at will—she didn't often do this before, but in the future... she should try it more, just as she gradually began to search for the part of herself that belonged only to Colette, aside from being a Mortari.
He worried that she would be constrained by the family's needs and make choices against her heart. He did not use his own old path to chart a direction for her, but only hoped she would not indulge in the established balance. But that wasn't entirely the case. She chose to remain in the position of Executor, certainly out of consideration for the family's interests. But at every critical point requiring a choice, she was the one who truly made the decision. She chose to do so, and that was all. She never intended to be bound by dogma—not in the past, not now, and not in the future.
Colette Mortari—she will always be needed, and she will never be abandoned again. And setting aside this limitation, she was already free enough.
The future is an interesting enough topic; to complete this painting named "Self," she is willing to spend more time exploring. Her method is to use her many feelings toward this world as materials, cropping, stacking, and collaging them... until she feels it is sufficiently full. Only for now, please allow her to maintain that little pride of hers, as she always has. For the time being, she is not yet prepared to reveal more of the parts that belong only to Coletta to others... no, perhaps-[1]it will be an accident. Cat's Eye—as expected, she still prefers to call him that. They once walked side by side; although neither of them completely stopped for the other at the end, as a return for him unabashedly pointing out her "excessive perfection," and as a fulfillment of her promise to show a "more undisguised self," she will incorporate that radiant Cat's Eye into the part concerning her self. Furthermore, she has a premonition that fate will bring him before her once more. As for what circumstances they will find themselves in then, and what kind of adventure will unfold... she can certainly look forward to it.
After the rain stops, no one knows what past events took place during the pitch-black night, but at this moment, the sun's afterglow graces her until the next fall of night. And so, she drains the last sip from her glass, turns, and walks toward that night. In the moment when all things are still, she will dance her own dance. |
Just as she promised you, the second daughter of the Mortari family has changed out of the attire she wore when "handling trouble" for her family, revealing a more defenseless self to you, and showing you a more cozy, relaxed, and free side of Coletta.
With light steps, a fine chain adorned with gemstones winds around her waist and abdomen, falling in a graceful curve at her side. The iridescent light scattered by their clinking is like crushed stars; with every step, she splashes the brightness and coolness of midsummer. No further decoration is needed; a few white flowers in her hair are enough to complement her radiance.
As water droplets slide down the ends of her hair onto her shoulders, all worries dissolve into the flickering light swaying in the pool. Letting her wet hair cling to her flushed cheeks, letting the soaked fabric outline her youthful curves, letting the brilliant light of the gemstones become even more unrestrained and dazzling... "Come now, summer should be enjoyed to the fullest; this is a poem frozen in time by youth!" So says the girl as she pulls your wrist once more, the corners of her lips bearing that same small, cunning smile as always.
After the Version 2.4 update, Coletta's specially customized "Summer Allure" will be permanently available in the Outfit Shop, priced at 1980 (during Version 2.4) / 2480 (after Version 2.4) Moon Phases.
