Prototype
Pale Rider is the true form of the pandemic infectious disease that broke out in the Western Middle Ages—"Plague/Black Death" (the pathogen is Yersinia pestis). The Black Death once claimed 30 million lives, and the Spanish Flu claimed 50 million, exceeding the death toll of World War I.

- In emergencies, it can pull targets along with their physical bodies into the Bounded Field.
- Originally, it would have been on a much smaller scale, but by combining with the land itself or other elements, it now creates a Bounded Field wider than what would be possible in a normal summoning.

The Noble Phantasm's name comes from the description of the Four Horsemen in the "New Testament - Book of Revelation," where the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were given authority to kill a fourth of mankind with sword, famine, plague, and wild beasts.

Summoned as the Rider servant in the False Holy Grail War. Due to fitting the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse[1]as the symbol of one of them,Knightit was summoned in the form of this Class. The Master isTsubaki Kuruoka, a ten-year-and-three-month-old black-haired girl. Her parents are mages and microbiologists; because they stole the development of the Matou family's Crest Worm magecraft and modified it with "microbes/bacteria," she has a large number of Magic Circuits in her body. However, due to the side effects of the "bacteria," her physical body is in a vegetative state at the Central Hospital. She summoned Rider, who is Pestilence, through her spiritual body in a dream, and controls Rider and moves around as a spiritual body. Because the duel between Gilgamesh and Enkidu triggered lightning, the Master's spirit in her vegetative state felt fear, so Rider set out to dispel the lightning. Enkidu sensed the approach of "Pestilence" and dissuaded Gilgamesh from attacking it. The two bid farewell with a third clash that far surpassed their previous duel, leaving a massive crater in the ground. Rider returned after sensing that the two had disappeared. Later, it used its Noble Phantasm to pull the spirits of some Holy Grail War participants into a Bounded Field. In Volume 6 of the novel, Tsubaki, not wanting to hurt anyone, used two Command Spells to order Rider to release everyone in the Bounded Field except herself, ending the battle. After fulfilling her wish to be forever alone, she collapsed, and Rider also withdrew. Afterward, it continued to protect Tsubaki's spirit from falling into the void, and received help seemingly from Ereshkigal. |
Character Information
The relationship between Rider and the Master has similarities with the situation of the Rider faction in 《Fate/Prototype》, where both involve summoning a Knight Servant while in a vegetative state. The difference is that the Master was changed from male to female, suggesting that there may be some inspiration drawn between the two.
