Afterglow was invited to participate in the "Girls Band Party" during practice, but Ran had always been in conflict with her father. Although the others were worried about Ran, the anticipation of waiting for the concert notification soon overshadowed their anxiety. After successfully receiving the notification, everyone devoted themselves wholeheartedly to the preparations. However, Tsugumi was hospitalized due to overwork from her busy schedule, while Ran fell into confusion because of her family situation. When the others expressed concern about Ran's current state, she lost her temper with them, and the five eventually parted on bad terms. Two days later, Ran was watching the sunset alone on the rooftop. Moca joined her, and they reminisced about their middle school days. Ran expressed that she "still wants to watch the sunset with everyone and still wants to be in a band together," and thanked Moca. Moca replied, "Something good will definitely happen tomorrow." While visiting Tsugumi, Himari and Tomoe decided to prioritize solving Ran's problem, while Ran decided she wanted to express her determination to continue the band. In Tsugumi's hospital room, Ran received the news from Tomoe about "temporarily suspending the band," which led to another argument with her friends, but they also reconciled because of it. After returning home, Ran invited her father to the concert and delivered a brilliant performance. After the performance, Ran's performance gained her father's recognition. In the park, Ran and the others had a heart-to-heart talk, deepening their understanding of each other. |

However, composing was not as simple as imagined. After observing Paspale's performance, the members of Afterglow and Pastel*Palettes exchanged their thoughts. After learning about Paspale's past, Ran composed a song that matched Afterglow's style and completed the lyrics with her bandmates on the school rooftop. As they were preparing to leave school, they saw the morning star hanging in the sky. After the track was completed, Chisato expressed her gratitude to Afterglow, and the members of both Afterglow and Pastel*Palettes fostered a friendly relationship through this collaboration. |

Afterglow decided to hold a live performance and prepare a new song for it. However, when Ran finished the lyrics and showed them to everyone, they said the "lyrics are a bit hard to understand," which left Ran confused. Progress on the composition was not going well either. When asked about her feelings while writing the lyrics, Ran brushed it off by saying "same as usual" and turned down an invitation to the family restaurant. During lunch break the next day, Ran and Moca had a heart-to-heart on the rooftop. Moca mentioned that she "wants to think about lyrics in the evening." Meanwhile, the others expressed concern over Ran's unusual behavior. Ultimately, in the classroom after school a few days later, Ran and her bandmates had an argument over "their own changes." In front of the school gate, Himari, Tomoe, and Tsugumi shared their thoughts on their own "changes" and decided to catch up with Ran. In the park, Ran and Moca understood each other's hearts, but Ran felt sad because she didn't understand the others. At that moment, Hina appeared. After reading Ran's lyrics, she also said she "didn't quite get it," but found it "very interesting," and stated, "I like Pastel*Palettes even more for thinking about things they don't understand with me." Ran fell into deep thought. Just as Ran was at a loss about how to invite everyone to the rooftop, she received an invitation from Tomoe. Ran is going to participate in an ikebana exhibition, and Moca is silently supporting her. However, Ran notices something unusual about Moca and talks to Tsugumi about "the usual Moca." Tsugumi wants to talk to Moca, while Ran wants to "treat her as always." Tsugumi insists that Ran say something, and Ran agrees, expressing her gratitude to Tsugumi. At the exhibition, Ran introduces the sasanqua she used for her flower arrangement to everyone in Afterglow and explains the flower's importance to her, but no one remembers. Although Ran doesn't mind, everyone is deeply moved. On the way home, Ran and Moca reveal their inner thoughts to each other. Despite Moca's repeated attempts to dissuade her, Ran cannot suppress her desire to express her feelings. Moca expresses her gratitude. "Thank you. I look forward to working with you from now on as well." A few days later, Moca meets with her friends with a song she composed, and Ran decides to use it as the closing song for their performance. |
ONE OF US——Afterglow Main Story Chapter 3

Afterglow decides to participate in the MelodicRain audition and successfully passes the first round of screening. However, Afterglow learns from the audition producer that "only bands that can attract fans have the value to perform." Ran is very indignant at the producer's practice of judging a band's worth by its fan count and resolutely forfeits their qualification for the next round. "What gives you the right to measure others by your own standards and dismiss their efforts so casually? We didn't form a band for people like you!!" After leaving the audition, while everyone is immersed in the joy of victory, Himari tells everyone the next day that word of the incident has spread, causing the audition to be canceled, and their classmates have expressed concern. Although they decide to wait and see for a while, Himari still wants to perform. Shortly after, Ran happens to meet Moca coming out of Yamabuki Bakery on a rainy day. Ran says she wants to write a new song but isn't in the right state of mind. Moca hopes Ran will open up about her troubles, but Ran says she isn't depressed and hopes to give the best performance possible. Later, the two find Himari in a difficult situation, and Tomoe and Tsugumi arrive shortly after, but this only further deepens the audience's stereotypes of Afterglow. Afterward, everyone comforts Himari and expresses their determination to support their leader. At CiRCLE, Kasumi and Yukina extend an olive branch to Afterglow. Just as Ran is about to accept, Himari receives an invitation to an all-girl band concert. Ran politely declines their offer, stating, "No matter what the reaction is, I want to stand on stage with my head held high." The two express their understanding and wish Afterglow well. During the creation of the new song, Afterglow receives well-wishes and feedback on their music from some audience members. Moved, Ran decides to write a new song to express "how we feel right now." While everyone was preparing for the performance in full swing, LOCK invited Afterglow to watch a performance. After the performance, CHU² mercilessly poured cold water on Afterglow's ambitions. Afterglow Disbandment Crisis
