The protagonist of the manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4. The illegitimate son born from an affair between Part 2 protagonist Joseph Joestar and a Japanese woman, Tomoko Higashikata. But it has to be returnedOld manA clean record; Araki once stated that because there was no protagonist, the "old man" was sacrificed for the plot's sake.
Blood-wise, he is the uncle of the Part 3 protagonist, Jotaro, but he is more than ten years younger than Jotaro.
Although he is only 16 years old, he ranks fourth in seniority among the JoJos of all generations, and is the first protagonist confirmed to be an uncle and a grand-uncle. The second is Giorno, who is considered a great-uncle in terms of seniority.
"JOJO"
Unlike other JoJos, Josuke's name pronunciation only has one "JO".
The character "仗" itself is pronounced "じょう", and while the character "助" is usually pronounced "すけ" when used in names, it can also be pronounced "じょ" depending on the circumstances; therefore, if the "助" in "Josuke" is read as "じょ", it becomes "じょじょ (JOJO)".
Additionally, Higashikata is actually his mother's surname; according to common practice, if he took his father's surname, it would be "Josuke()·Joestar()", which would also make the "JOJO" nickname valid.
However, he was only called that once at the beginning, and no one has called him that since.
Since he is Jotaro's uncle, Part 4 is actually "Uncle's Bizarre Adventure," which is technically true, so congratulations are in order.
Personality
Gentle, honest, righteous, hot-blooded, calm, cautious, and polite, he takes great care of his friends. Although he looks like a delinquent, his personality is the most docile and honest among the JoJos of the old world, second only to Jonathan. Aside from being greedy for money, he has no major flaws as long as his hair isn't mentioned.
He can't handle reptiles, such as turtles.
He is very sensitive about his hairstyle; no matter who it is, if they insult his hair, he will lose his temper, and almost everyone who has commented on his hair, except for Jotaro, has met a bad end。
He is very gentle and kind. After hearing from Jotaro that he is Joseph's illegitimate son from an affair, his first reaction was to apologize for his existence disrupting Joseph and hisoriginal wife'sfamily. However, as the plot develops, he also shows a more cynical side.
He likes wearing brand-name goods. When Jotaro was wading through water to track a rat, Josuke crossed the pond barefoot because he didn't want to get his 25,000-yen shoes and socks dirty. As a result, Jotaro's warning of "Watch out for leeches in the pond" scared Josuke, causing his shoes and socks to fall into the water.
He is greedy for money and likes to use tricks to earn pocket money:
RegardingShigechiOnce (after learning about Shigechi's Stand ability, he and Okuyasu tricked him into collecting stamps and discarded lottery tickets, which ended up triggering Shigechi's greed; after a battle, both sides agreed to split the prize money and reconcile). However, after his mother discovered he suddenly had so much money, his account was frozen.
RegardingRohan KishibeOnce (together with the one who can freely transformMikitaka Hazekura, they scammed Rohan out of a total of 2.06 million yen, indirectly causing a serious injury to his pinky finger[3]and his house to catch fire, burning away 7 million yen).
Once against Joseph (gave him a photo of his mother but intentionally tore a piece off, then used Crazy Diamond's ability to "fish" Joseph's wallet).
However, at the beginning of the story, Josuke was indifferent to his father's massive inheritance, which stands in stark contrast to him stealing the wallet at the end. Besides the complex feelings toward his estranged father, as a son, what Josuke wanted was his father's "pocket money," not an "inheritance."
Extremely intelligent and full of clever tricks just like his father Joseph, he utilizes everything in his surroundings to fight enemies even in direct combat. His thinking ability is also very strong, once havingYoshikage Kiraidentified his identity through subtle flaws after the battle with Jotaro & Koichi.
The Stand was named by Jotaro. The name comes from the Pink Floyd song "Shine On You Crazy Diamond."
Stand Ability:
A close-range power-type Stand with a very short range (only about 2m).
Its ability is to restore damaged objects or living beings to their original state.(parrotedHealer)
Through this restoration ability, Josuke can repair destroyed items and heal wounds on others, but the Stand cannot heal himself (therefore, Josuke adopts various flexible tactics in battle to avoid being retired, and as a result, he possesses higher-than-average endurance).
He can also choose to use the Stand's fists to destroy the opponent before activating the ability, thereby changing the shape of objects or fusing two objects together.Furthermore, he can restore the opponent from an injured state and then use the Stand's fists to inflict even heavier injuries @Yuya Fungami"If I heal you first and then 'Dora' you, it's not considered dirty, right?"
If the ability is used on a fragment of a destroyed object, the fragment will "fly rapidly toward the original object"; if the fragment is fixed, it can "pull the original object toward the fragment." Josuke once, by using the ability onYoshikage Kira's severed hand, tracked the person himself; he also used this ability to turn glass shards stained with his own blood into "homing bullets," used Okuyasu's severed limb to pull the abducted Okuyasu back to his original position, and also used this ability to swipe Joseph's wallet. If a fragment has been separated from the main body for too long, the ability cannot be used.
When he is angry, he cannot guarantee that the repaired object will return to its original state; the shape may become quite distorted, such as the disfigured delinquent at the beginning and Jotaro's hatAs well as the furniture he used to vent his anger after his grandfather's death, or even fuse different objects together. @A certain stone statue
If the fragments are incomplete when repairing an object, it cannot be fully restored. If a part of the fragments completely disappears from the world (for example, being moved to another space by The Hand), the missing part cannot be restored through the ability.
Cannot resurrect the dead, cannot cure diseases, cannot remove poisoning, and cannot restore items that have been burned to ashes.
The repair speed is quite fast, capable of piercing a human body with the Stand's physical attack and then restoring it completely in an instant, so fast that the subject doesn't even have time to feel pain. For example, punching through his mother's body to pull out Aqua Necklace and then quickly healing herIts repair speed even surpasses Killer Queen's explosions, being able to heal Hayato the moment he is blown apart, and repeatedly neutralizing Killer Queen's attacks, making him Yoshikage Kira's greatest nemesis. Thus, in Kira's mind, Josuke is a greater threat than Jotaro.
Jotaro commented that this is the gentlest power in the world.
Its strength and speed are very powerful[4], shocking Jotaro during their first encounter; although the punching speed has not been actually measured, it is far higher than 300km/h, otherwise how could it break the near light-speed[5]Star Platinum's defense.
Judging from the scene of shooting steel balls, it is slightly inferior to Star Platinum in terms of precision.
The Stand's basic combat ability is very strong (Power A, Speed A), yet it has a special ability to restore, which is very similar to Josuke's naturally kind but occasionally short-tempered personality.
Due to the design styleand JOJO's bizarre color changes, many readers feel its appearance is very similar to The World.
Why Crazy Diamond looks like The World (Wrong)
When Crazy Diamond was 4 years old, it had a high fever for 50 consecutive days for unknown reasons. On a snowy day, Crazy Diamond's mother was taking it to the hospital when the road was blocked by a steamroller. Crazy Diamond's mother was very anxious. At that moment, a Stand named The World, who was extremely "High," passed by and moved the steamroller. Since then, Crazy Diamond took its benefactor, The World, as an idol and changed its own design to look like The World.
Character History
Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable
At the age of four, due to a mysterioushigh feverfor fifty days, he nearly died. This was basically during the events of Part 3, and it was likely due to theDIOinfluence that caused his Stand ability to awaken, backfiring on his body because the host lacked the will to fight.
While being taken by his mother forhospitalemergency treatment, because ofheavy snow, the vehicle was unable to move forward. At that moment, a woundedDelinquentdelinquent helped out of righteousness, allowing them to successfully reach the hospital.
Josuke, who viewed that mysterious boy as a hero, grew out a pompadour just like his and also wears a school uniform as his regular attire.
After this incident, he was able to use Stand abilities. (By comparison, in Part 3Hollyit's possible they could also use Stands after the DIO incident)
In 1999, Joseph, considering himself to be of advanced age, began preparing for his future inheritance when he discovered he had Josuke as anSon, and through the power of Hermit Purple, he printed out the murdererAngelo's photo, and thus commissioned Jotaro to go to Morioh Town to find Josuke, while also investigating the ominous signs lurking in Morioh.
Due to the awkward situation, Josuke initially did not intend to acknowledgeFatherhis relationship with him, and even by the end of the story, he did not let his mother and father meet.
Later, his maternal grandfather, Ryohei Higashikata, was by the escaped murderer known as "Angelo"—Anjuro Katagiri's Stand killed; in order to avenge his grandfather, who had protected Morioh as a police officer, and to protect his hometown, he decided to step forward. He eventually succeeded in defeating Angelo, leaving him with a fate more tragic than death or being brought to justice—being turned into the immobile "Angelo Stone" by Crazy Diamond's ability.
While investigating the Stand Arrow that turned Angelo into a Stand user, he found the Nijimura brothers, the owners of the Stand Arrow. After defeatingOkuyasu NijimuraandKeicho Nijimuraafterwards, the Stand Arrow wasAkira Otoishistolen, while Okuyasu Nijimura was moved by Josuke's kindness and sense of justice, becoming Josuke's best friend. After this, Josuke also metToshikazu Hazamada、Rohan Kishibe、Shigekiyo Yanguand other Stand users. During this time, he even defeated Akira Otoishi and hunted down the Stand-using rats created by Akira with the Arrow alongside Jotaro.Bug-Eaten。
After Joseph arrived in Morioh, Josuke was filled with mixed emotions upon seeing his biological father in person. While taking care of the accidentally discoveredInvisible Baby,Joseph's senility caused many troubles, which greatly dissatisfied Josuke. However, after seeing Joseph's act of slitting his wrist to find the invisible baby who had fallen into the water, Josuke was moved by his father's lingering sense of justice and sincerely acknowledged Joseph as his father.
When Koichi Hirose told him about the "serial killer" case mentioned by Reimi Sugimoto, he initially had no intention of investigating. It wasn't until Shigekiyo Yangu was murdered that he resolutely joined the investigation to track down the killerYoshikage Kirain the investigation. During the investigation, he also defeated Yoshikage Kira's father'sKira Yoshihiromany evil Stand users created with the Arrow. Among them, heYuya Fungami、Toyohiro Kanedaichibecame friends with, and turned the wickedTerunosuke Miyamotointo a book.
AtHayatoWith the help of, Josuke cracked Yoshikage Kira's third bomb, Bites the Dust. After a battle of wits and a life-risking struggle, he successfully dealt a heavy blow to Yoshikage Kira, laying the foundation for Kira's final defeat and death, restoring peace to Morioh.
Before seeing off his father and nephew, he used Crazy Diamond's ability to swipe Joseph's wallet, claiming that "it's only natural for a father to give his son pocket money."
The story begins in April 1999 and ends in July 1999, so the events of Part 4 span approximately three months.
Part 5: Golden Wind
He does not appear and has no lines, only appearing inKoichi Hiroseteaming up with Giorno to take downBlack Sabbatha flashback scene afterwards.

Delinquent Students
At the beginning of the manga, Josuke is bullied by three delinquent students. One of the students warns that he will shave off his "Astro Boy-like" hair.
JosukeHey... upperclassman... what did you just say about my hair!
Then he used Crazy Diamond to pummel the opponentYou said my hair looks like Sazae-san!?After the "Sazae-san" comment was made, he healed the turtle thrown by the delinquent and distorted the delinquent's face.
Anjuro Katagiri
While Anjuro was using his Stand to control someone for a robbery, he mocked Josuke's hair (who was just watching the scene), leading Josuke to "restore" the knife held by the possessed person into their stomach. After being turned into a stone statue by Josuke and recounting his experience of becoming a Stand user, Anjuro Katagiri used his Stand to seize control of a child.
Josuke:Good... looks like you can still control your Stand...
Anjuro:Josuke! Separate me from this rock right now!
(Josuke takes out a comb.)
Josuke:It seems like... the anger in my heart... isn't quite enough yet... (combing hair)
Anjuro:You still have time to mess with that bird's nest on your head!I told you to let me out, didn't you hear me! If you stall any longer, I'll take this brat's life!
Jotaro:What? (surprised)
Josuke:What did you say my hair... looks like?
Then he smashed Anjuro to pieces and restructured him with a "jiong" face. The fugitive became the famous Angelo Stone.
Yo, Angelo.
Rohan Kishibe
Attempted to lure Josuke into a trap by intentionally provoking him, but Josuke's rage exceeded his imagination, resulting in him being blasted and temporarily incapacitated, while his house was also demolished by Josuke, ultimately causing "Pink Dark Boy" to go on hiatus for a monthAs expected of Josuke, he can easily doPriestthings that others cannot do[6]。
Jotaro Kujo
After meeting Josuke at the beginning of the manga, he unintentionally said to Josuke, "Save that talk about your boring hair for later," which ended up angering Josuke[7], releasing Crazy Diamond to fight Star Platinum. Although Crazy Diamond knocked Jotaro's hat askew, Josuke was ultimately knocked down by a punch from Jotaro, who was slightly superior and able to stop time, ending the battle there. Thus, Jotaro became the only one to walk away unscathed...

In ASB, Josuke can use a counter move; if successful, he enters a rage state where his hair stands up, gaining super armor, high attack, and high defense, but he will continuously walk toward the enemy even without input.
In EoH, if Josuke hits an opponent while in low health (red bar), he will punch them away, fix them, and then punch them again.
Of course, the way the counter succeeds is by having his hair insulted... and every character has different lines for this, including 2P Josuke.

Ikuro (Baoh): "バオーは相手の髪の毛の発するにおいを觸覚で感じ…そのにおいが大嫌いだった(Baoh sensed the scent of the opponent's hair with its feelers... this smell is super disgusting.) "
Actually, it was said by the narrator
As it turns out, not a single person likes this hairstyle; everyone from his great-grandfather to his grandniece roasts it to death, not to mention the Part 5 group from Italy who have excellent fashion sense.
Even ancient people, dogs, birds, and horses[10]cannot bring themselves to praise it, and even his counterparts from two different timelines don't think it's GREAT.
So actually, Josuke, you know deep down that this hairstyle is quite lame—DORARARARARARARARARARARARA! DORA!
He is afraid of reptiles and dares not touch turtles, but this setting is almost never seen in the later stages.
He is a protagonist that the author, Hirohiko Araki, particularly likes. Araki-sensei mentioned that because the protagonists of the first three parts, while having different personalities, were all as noble as heroes, he created Josuke in Part 4 to be as approachable as a "big brother next door"Actually, he said he's more like the second male lead in a romance drama[11]type of protagonist, although as long as you criticize his hair even slightly, this "big brother next door" will no longer be friendly.
His feelings toward his father, Joseph, are somewhat complex; at first, he would only call him Mr. Joestar, but aspocket money was giventhe incident with the invisible baby "Shizu" occurred, he started calling him "Old Man."
Being in Part 4 where the art style changes drastically, his face in the beginning looks very similar to Jotaro's, while his later appearance actually looks younger than at the start,Jotaro Kujo likes this。
He is the first JoJo since Jonathan who has not killed anyone[12], but has killedrats。and has beaten living people intorocksandBookTold you it's the gentlest power in the world
Some netizens combined Josuke's ASB artwork with the Atlantic Ocean and found they were basically identical.
ASB IllustrationCan never look at the Atlantic Ocean the same way again
Due to his Stand"Crazy Diamond"()'s healing ability, Josuke often travels to other works in fan fiction to treat characters who have suffered heavy casualties, tragic backgrounds, or lack care and sympathy from others, which also echoes Josuke's gentle personality in the original story: "Was it you who protected everyone?! Josuke, you are so kind!"Therefore, in someDepressingcomment sections and bullet chats of various works, the saying "Quick, go invite the Great Immortal Josuke" will appear
For example,Shindol'smanga work "Metamorphosis (Emergence)" (not for those with low psychological resilience or minors), the female protagonistSaki Yoshida'sending was so tragic that on March 13, 2019, a JoJo fan uploaded an alternate ending titled "I'm Gonna Fix That Girl" to nhentai.[4]In the story, Josuke Higashikata appears to help Saki escape her fate of death and get her life back on track. At the same time, it alleviated the PTSD of some readers.(The image is a fan-translated version)

Of course, there is a follow-up to this:
The author retweeted a fan art piece drawn by someone else celebrating Saki's birthday.
Note Josuke in the top right corner.
Another example is the ending for the protagonist SaTo in "That Girl Registered a Secret Account," which also left many readers feeling indignant, leading to edited images of Josuke coming to the rescue. "Friendship"
Araki once personally drew a short four-panel manga titled "Friendship," which tells the story of Josuke trying to use Crazy Diamond to fix the broken friendship between two punks, but ends up beating them to death. Because this short story is too nonsensical andOOC, and at the same time, Araki mentioned in the notes at the bottom that "this Josuke Higashikata is not the JoJo character we are familiar with, and he will not appear in any other works again." Therefore, the Josuke in this short story is jokingly called "Parallel World Josuke," "Western Josuke," or "Rohan Kishibe's move is too ruthless”.
Classic Quotes
"Hey... Senpai... what did you just say about my hair!"
「おい…先輩 あんた…今、おれのこの頭のことなんつった!」
"You said my head looks like Sazae-san!?"
「このヘアースタイルがサザエさんみてェーだとォ?」
"Great ("グレート)!」

The battle cry when attacking opponents with his Stand
From theKira Yoshihirobattle, a shout directed at Jotaro. Combined with Josuke's expression and the subsequent events—where Star Platinum did nothing, and Jotaro calmly used his own wits to solve the dead-end—this created a hilarious contrast and became a very famous JOJO meme.
It later became a golden quote for Japanese netizens to use in image edits, mainly added to the shouts or cries of other characters, especially when the person they are pinning their hopes on ends up doing nothing.
"A guy like you couldn't possibly scare me, you moron!"
From theKira YoshihiroDuring the battle, when Jotaro asked Josuke to say a cool line toKira Yoshihiro, Josuke said this line.
"What a refreshing feeling! It's as refreshing as putting on a pair of fresh underwear on New Year's morning!"
After defeatingYuya Fungami, this was his statement.

Star Platinum's speed is described in JOJO VELLER as approaching the speed of light, and in the manga as being faster than light at its peak. Crazy Diamond breaking through its defense is only because Crazy Diamond is one of the very few stands in the original work with extremely high power and speed; JOJO VELLER points out that Crazy Diamond can nearly hold its own against Star Platinum. Thus, while Crazy Diamond is very strong, it still cannot surpass Star Platinum in terms of power and speed. However, JOJO A-GO!GO! points out that Crazy Diamond hides a power that surpasses Star Platinum, leading to the general speculation that an enraged Crazy Diamond's power and speed can temporarily exceed Star Platinum's normal state.(Do not think that Part 4 Star Platinum's power and speed are weaker than in Part 3; the data book (JOJO VELLER) specifically states that its power and speed in Part 4 are the same as in Part 3, "a strength that has never weakened," it's just that the time-stop duration is shorter.)
