YuukiIs byUkai YūjiWritten by,NekometalIllustrated light novel《Living by Death Games》and its derivative works.
Sloppy and casual in daily life, but cautious and calm in games.
She comes from a humble background with limited education, and she is well aware of this fact.
She is prone to oversleeping and wakes up relatively late at the start of each game.
At the start of a game, her habit is to simply state her player name, the number of games she's played, and a few brief pleasantries before finishing.
In games, she tends to cooperate with others, claiming:"In the long run, this yields the highest survival rate. Building rapport here might bring me benefits in some future game."
She gets nervous and excited about guiding a newbie for the first time, and becomes anxious when the fate of someone important is unknown.
During games, she forces herself not to take responsibility for others' deaths, instead praying for the deceased after the game ends.
She set a rule for herself:"If I encounter a situation in a game whereI must kill someone,I'll choose the one closest to me."
A ghost-like girl with silver hair and heterochromia.
In Volume 1, Moegi's description of Yuki in the game is:"Skin so pale it's as if she's never seen the sun; a face as ashen as a stock market crash."
She wears specific outfits in-game, but in reality, she only owns tracksuits besides the sailor uniform she wore for night school.
Furthermore, Yuuki's tracksuits are divided into tracksuits for sleeping and tracksuits for going out. However, there is no difference between the two.
She stores the clothes worn in each game in her wardrobe.
Despite receiving high prize money from the "Games," she still lives in"Room 107 of a thirty-year-old reinforced concrete apartment, fifteen minutes from the station, with a monthly rent of 35,000 yen including management fees."
Her residence has issues including, but not limited to, uncollected trash, a lack of furniture, piled-up cardboard boxes, moldy walls, and scattered fallen hair.
Yuuki is accustomed to going out at night,"Always sleeping at 7:00 AM and waking up at 7:00 PM, with a staggering twelve hours of sleep."
She relies on a convenience store five minutes from home and online shopping to purchase daily necessities. She lives off the convenience store at her doorstep.
For certain reasons, she decided to improve her lifestyle habits after the 9th game, and thus attends night school during the intervals between games.
Unlike ordinary players, Yuuki aims for"Achieving a record of ninety-nine consecutive victories."as her goal for playing the game.
The reason she gave herself was:"Because I think I'm good at it. Humans always want to compete in things they're good at. For me, this is it."
In reality, Yuuki's actions are partly to inherit the "dying wish" of her master, Hakushi.
As a player, she possesses considerable experience and skill, allowing her to proficiently handle both combat and traps in most situations.
She is proficient in using various weapons, including firearms, and is skilled at setting traps.
This game was the first time Yuuki led a team of newcomers. The players were dressed in maid outfits.
After Yuuki woke up last as usual, she kindly
However, to ensure the safety of the food, the newcomers snatched away the snacks Yuuki was eating.
After Yuuki led the team to explore the map, they discovered that a key was needed to open the door to the next scene.
After a fruitless search, the only player besides Yuuki with game experience, "Kuroto," suggested searching the initial gathering spot and was the first to find the key hidden under a snack plate.
However, due to being too reckless while retrieving the key, Kuroto was struck in the head by a spike trap and died instantly, becoming the first character to die in this book.
The next map area is a hexagonal room with levers on each of the six walls, an unavoidable "Major Obstacle."
After Yuuki led the remaining four people in a cautious attempt, they successfully triggered the mechanism; their hands were locked onto the levers, and the higher the lever, the tighter the restraint, which at its tightest would sever the wrist. Furthermore, the group was separated, and slowly descending circular saws appeared above their heads.
Yuuki deduced that the handcuffs had to be opened with a key, after which the circular saw would stop; after unlocking her own handcuffs, she passed the key to the others through the gaps in between.
Due to the infighting, the group eventually cleared the stage with Aoi dead and Kaneko injured.
Taking this opportunity, Yuuki explained "Embalming."
The next area was an elevator with a 150kg weight limit, which required either one person to die or all four to undergo amputation to pass.
The stage was equipped with both a steam room for weight loss and amputation tools.
Feeling guilty for causing Aoi's death, Kaneko chose to lock himself in the steam room to let the others leave.
On one hand, Yuuki couldn't leave Kaneko behind, and on the other, the combined weight of the remaining three was still over the limit; Yuuki used the spikes fired from the mechanism to break open the bathroom door.
The other two were forced to agree to the amputation, but demanded that Yuuki prove her limbs were intact to demonstrate the reliability of "Embalming."So Yuuki stripped naked.。
After the amputations, the group boarded the elevator. On the way to the finish line, Yuuki encouraged Kaneko, saying it was okay to be a coward sometimes.
Arriving at the final door, the group discovered that one person had to be killed to pass; Yuuki ultimately chose Kaneko, who was closest to her, according to her own rules.
Yuuki belongs to the "Rabbits" and wears a bunny girl outfit. The "Stumps" wear pinafore dresses.
Out of caution, Yuuki chose to stay in the "Rabbit" base during this game, waiting for other veterans, including her master "Hakushi," to take the initiative and kill the "Stump" side, which consisted of rookies but held the advantage.
However, the murderer "Kyara" had infiltrated the "Rabbit" rookie group. Although the player "Bokka" noticed Kyara's disappearance midway, they failed to stop him from going on a killing spree that targeted both friend and foe.
Yuuki was forced to hide in a maze, where she encountered the enemy leader "Moegi." With the absolute gap in experience and combat ability, along with simple traps, Yuuki killed Moegi with ease.
Yuuki felt deeply distressed that she, who "joined the game without a goal," had killed Moegi, who "joined to achieve something."
Worried about her master Hakushi's safety, Yuuki returned to the "Rabbit" base, only to find that "Hakushi" had died a tragic death and to run straight into Kyara.
Kyara's mockery of Hakushi's physical condition and strength dealt another blow to Yuuki. Combined with Kyara's cheat-like body modifications and unexpected sneak attacks, Yuuki was put at a disadvantage.
In a moment of crisis, Yuuki remembered Hakushi's teaching "don't fight killers" and became suspicious of Hakushi's behavior, deducing that Hakushi had hidden something inside the Tanuki mascot on the field.
Resolving to inherit Hakushi's goal of "99 consecutive victories" during the battle, Yuuki successfully killed Kyara with the gun hidden by her master, ultimately becoming one of the only three survivors.
"CANDLE WOODS" also left an indelible mark on the industry as the game with the highest number of participants and the highest mortality rate.
Three months later, Yuuki returned to the death game.
Yuuki woke up in a room on the fifth floor. After checking her backpack, she left the room to patrol. When she tried to wake up Mishiro in another room, she was successfully ambushed by her.
Afterwards, Mishiro woke up the players in the other rooms, discovering that only five of the six rooms were occupied. During the self-introductions, Yuuki realized that the other five players already knew each other from previous games.
Mishiro took the initiative to act as the leader. When Yuki asked why, she was instead mocked by Mishiro, who questioned if Yuki really seemed like a player on her tenth game. Yuki, aware of the impact of her three-month hiatus, agreed to Mishiro being the leader.
The group played rock-paper-scissors and decided that Keito would lead the line, using one flashlight at a time.
On the way down to the fourth floor, they discovered the sixth person, who had died in a pitfall. Because it hadn't been turned off, the sixth person's flashlight was out of power. The group scavenged other useful items.
To prevent accidental falls, the five of them tied themselves together with the provided rope.
While exploring the fourth floor, Yuki relied on her intuition and requested the group change their route, using the reason that "the cameras are too obvious." The group complied.
Shortly after, Yuki combined various factors and her intuition to request another route change. This behavior drew Mishiro's dissatisfaction, who openly questioned the authenticity of Yuki's play count.
Mishiro ultimately ignored Yuki's second warning and forced the team to pass through, after which nothing happened. At this point, Yuki lost the trust of the others.
The group reached the third floor, where Kotoha took over from Keito as the leader, and quickly exhausted the second flashlight.
Yuki offered her opinion regarding the use of flashlights, believing that the battery wouldn't be enough and that floor traps might become increasingly dangerous, so they should save power as early as possible and find a place to turn the lights off. However, Yuki's words were ignored.
At this moment, Kotoha unfortunately stepped on a landmine. Mishiro emptied her own backpack and filled it with cement blocks to weigh down the mine.
The others took temporary cover while Kotoha successfully weighed down the mine, but during the movement, the backpack was snagged by the rope, detonating the mine. Kotoha's feet were blown off, and she was separated from the group by a massive hole created by the explosion, though she didn't appear to be dead.
Everyone except Yuki believed there was no benefit in saving Kotoha, but Yuki left her flashlight behind and took a detour alone to save her.
Relying on her high level of skill, Yuki avoided traps in the dark and found Kotoha. Kotoha was still alive and, under Yuki's hint, realized the reason why Yuki was saving her.
Following in Mishiro and the others' footsteps, Yuki intermittently turned on the light briefly to confirm the terrain, carrying Kotoha on her back as she safely found the stairs. Having lowered her guard, Kotoha talked with Yuki about their reasons for participating in the game.
Upon reaching the stairwell landing, the two discovered the stairs were broken. Yuki successfully brought Kotoha down to the second floor and promised to help Mishiro and the others if possible.
Yuki suddenly sensed something stalking her from behind. She intentionally walked into a long corridor, taking the opportunity to see that her pursuer was a vicious canine beast with a severed hand in its mouth.
Yuki determined that the beast was afraid of light, but her flashlight happened to run out of power. She confronted it and successfully drove it back. Continuing forward, the two happened upon the hiding Keito and Chie, learning that the arm in the beast's mouth belonged to Mishiro, and that the group had been separated during the attack. Afterward, Yuki led the group and successfully found the stairs.
Yuki decided to turn back to save Mishiro, entrusting Kotonoha to Chie's care.
In a small room, Yuki found the hiding Mishiro. Yuki teased Mishiro, demanding an apology in exchange for saving her.
A flustered and annoyed Mishiro rejected Yuki's kindness and ran off alone. This action instead earned her Yuki's strange favor. Yuki blocked the beast attacking Mishiro and told her the location of the stairs.
Afterward, Yuki, having regained her feel for the game, easily killed the beast.
Upon reaching the first floor, the mystery of the game was revealed. Players needed to use the synthetic paper from their bags at the start to vote and select the "least contributing player" for execution. There were extra ballots in the voting booth; each person could not vote for the same person twice, and casting multiple ballots at once would count as a random draw.
Yuki had guessed the purpose of the synthetic paper from the beginning. She held a total of four ballots—her own, Kotonoha's, the sixth person's, and one from the voting booth—and cast them for four different people simultaneously.
Ultimately, Yuki's vote was randomly cast for Chie, who met her death with the highest number of votes.
Approaching the "Wall of Thirty," Yuki felt her condition getting worse and worse.
While taking a night walk, Yuki noticed someone following her. After leading the person to a park, Yuki discovered it was Kaneko's father.
Mr. Kaneko did not know that Yuki had killed Kaneko; he only hoped that Yuki, as a game player, would swallow a tracking capsule to assist his organization in destroying the game. Yuki did not refuse directly.
Yuki returned to the base of her residence with the capsule, only to find an agent there to invite her to participate in a game. In her poor state, Yuki absentmindedly agreed to participate.
While taking sleeping pills, Yuki accidentally swallowed the tracking capsule and ended up having to swallow another sleeping pill to cover it up.
Yuki woke up in a cramped shower room; while exploring after stepping out, she encountered other players and was attacked by Azuma.
After subduing Azuma, Yuki was taken to their base and learned that the game had already been underway for several hours. Azuma explained the rules and invited Yuki to join their side.
Because there were more players than shoes, some players formed the "Entrance Team," gathering at the exit to lie in wait for players carrying tags to fall into their trap; the others, namely Azuma's group, stayed by the open-air bath while searching for footwear tags within the area.
Azuma's group, including Yuki, totaled twelve people, while the Entrance Team was estimated to have over thirty. At this time, Yuki and the others had not yet discovered that there was another bathhouse.
Yuki decided to take the initiative and use guerrilla tactics to reduce the enemy's numbers, thereby bringing the population down to a level where there would be enough footwear tags for everyone.
While lying in ambush amidst the steam, Yuki and Azuma shared their reasons for participating in the game.
Noticing that the enemy's numbers didn't add up, and after receiving a report from a teammate, Yuki suddenly realized there was more than one bathhouse, meaning the Entrance Team's numbers were actually far higher than estimated.
The players of the Entrance Team chose to destroy the bamboo fence between the two open-air baths, launching a pincer attack on Yuki's team and stealing all of their footwear tags.
Left with no choice, Yuki led some of her teammates in a desperate gamble, rushing toward the exit in an attempt to steal footwear tags and escape before the main force of the Entrance Team could return to reinforce it.
Yuki's teammates were killed one by one by Mishiro, the leader of the Entrance Team. Finally, Mishiro, who had been obsessed with Yuki since the tenth game, met the now-miserable Yuki.
Yuki was at a disadvantage in the battle against Mishiro. After hearing about Mishiro's efforts and her scolding of the now-wretched Yuki, Yuki regained her spirit, eventually killed Mishiro, and single-handedly intimidated the other hostile players.
Yuki arrived at the exit and encountered Mishiro's apprentice, Riko. Upon learning that her master was dead, Riko launched an attack.
Due to a mistake, Yuki took a direct hit from the physically modified Riko, breaking both of her arms. In the end, Yuki used the electric shock trap at the entrance to kill Riko via conduction through a corpse, successfully clearing the game.
Out of 100 players, 70 survived.
In the battle against Riko during this game, Yuuki lost three fingers on her left hand, from the middle finger to the little finger.
Led by three veteran players who had participated in over thirty games, the players didn't just flee; they also seized the "Executioners'" weapons to fight back.
Not only the players, but the number of "Executioners" also decreased over time, and in the end, the latter were all wiped out first.
Before even half of the game's set time had passed, there was nothing left in the amusement park that could threaten the players.
After the game ended, Yuuki went to the prosthetics master's residence for maintenance on her prosthetic limb and was startled by the hidden prosthetics master.
Yuuki was woken up by Airi, and everyone gathered at Guyong's cabin to introduce themselves.
Yuuki discovered that Guyong knew her master.
Led by Nagayo, the group explored the island, confirmed there was no land nearby, and discussed what the game rules might be.
At night, Yuuki blocked the door with a cabinet and went to sleep warily.
Airi woke Yuuki up, and they gathered with the worried group. Yuuki learned that Kuze had been dismembered the previous night.
The group went to Kuze's cabin to check the scene. The state of Kuze's corpse reminded Yuuki of "CANDLE WOODS".
Afterward, the group returned to Koyomi's cabin for a meeting to discuss the possible identity of the killer. Yuki deduced from the food reserves that the game would last for seven days.
Due to safety concerns, Mauma and Hizumi requested to act independently. The group agreed to gather at Koyomi's cabin every morning to report on their activities for the day.
Because Mitsuha had eaten Koyomi's food during the first day's introductions, the rest of the group (except those acting independently) went to Mitsuha's cabin to retrieve the food. Mitsuha left the group and stayed in her cabin.
Yuki went to Kuse's cabin with the others and discovered that her body had disappeared. Yuki shared that she had associated the situation with "CANDLE WOODS."
After that, the four of them disbanded.
Yuki encountered Mitsuha alone at the shallows. Mitsuha engaged in some small talk with Yuki, then tricked her into getting close before overpowering her.
Mitsuha confessed that she was Mishiro's disciple, but after seeing that Yuki was nothing special, she let her go in disappointment.
That night, Yuki chose to stay up all night.
Mitsuha died, her manner of death identical to Kuse's. The group held a meeting in Mitsuha's cabin.
Yuki explained the disappearance of Kuse's body to those acting alone and noticed that Mauma had bandages on her body.
Everyone accounted for their actions from the previous day and discussed matters related to the game rules.
After the meeting, Yuki and the three people she was acting with examined Mitsuha's body.
Afterward, Yuki wanted to go to Mauma's base in the woods to gather information from her, but she gave up due to the other's traps.
On her way back, Yuki happened to run into Airi and noticed that she had the same bandages as Mauma. From this, Yuki realized there were implanted devices in their bodies and returned to her cabin to dig out the device.
Hizumi dies.
In the morning, everyone gathers for a meeting again. After the meeting, Airi suggests searching Koyomi and Mikumo, discovering that they both have devices on them.
Yuki wants to learn from Koyomi about her master's evaluation of her, and discovers that Kuze is her senior, and further unexpectedly learns that her master, Hakushi, is still alive.
The group reasonably suspects that Kuze, as Hakushi's disciple, has also undergone modification surgery and possesses the ability to return from the dead.
After this, the four of them gather together, taking turns keeping watch and defending the cabin. Nothing happens until the morning of the eighth day when the lifeboat arrives.
Everyone arrives at the beach and sees unidentified personnel in black special operations uniforms approaching in rubber dinghies. Realizing something is wrong, they timely dodge the gunfire from the men in black.
Yuki realizes that Kuze has boarded the lifeboat, seized the organizers' weapons, and escaped into the forest.
Because Kuze was intimidated and driven back by Mikumo's bluff with a fake homemade stun gun, she sets her sights on Yuki, who was praised by her own master.
Yuki approaches Kuze using the traps left by Mauma. In a situation where Kuze is at a disadvantage in close combat after self-suturing, Yuki seemingly kills Kuze.
Finally, Yuki boards the ship and completes the game.
After the game, Yuki meets with Hakushi under Koyomi's arrangement.
To Yuki's question:"Between me and Kuze, who would you have preferred to come here?"Hakushi replied with—"You are no longer my apprentice, so you don't need to care about the eyes of outsiders."” was the reply.
After the 47th game, Yuuki asked her agent for help because she was being spied on at school. The agent agreed to help her.
After school, Yuuki confirmed she was being followed and contacted her agent. The agent arrived and tried to catch the classmate following her, Hitomi Honezuka, but was knocked down instead.
Because she brought the agent back to her home, Yuuki's address was exposed.
Out of an unknown curiosity, Hitomi sneaked into Yuuki's house while Yuuki was on leave from class. Yuuki used a double to trick Hitomi and caught her red-handed in her own home.
Yuuki tried to persuade Hitomi to stop spying on her, but was ambushed by Hitomi, who saw the game outfits in her closet.
After the 44th game, Yuuki went to the prosthetic master to gather information about the abnormal game "GARBAGE PRISON," which had an excessively high mortality rate.
Suspecting that the master was trying to hide and scare her, while Yuuki was looking for him,Mistakesshe bumped into some tools, turning a corner of the room into a disastrous mess.
The prosthetic master, who had just finished bathing, listened to Yuuki's explanation and said that many players had already asked him about it, but he didn't actually know the situation.
When asked if there was anyone well-informed, the Prosthetic Master introduced Yuuki tothe tattoo artist Tsuihara.。
However, while maintaining the prosthetic limb, the Master pointed out that the color of Yuuki's right eye had faded, but Yuuki didn't take it to heart since it had no practical impact.
Following the Prosthetic Master's suggestion, Yuuki arrived at the Tsuihara estate and encountered Wool, who was also there to gather information. They learned that the player who went on a killing spree in "GARBAGE PRISON" hadtattooson their hands. Since players who have undergone "Antiseptic Treatment" can only get tattoos from professionals in the field, the tattoo artist Tsuihara was a vital lead.
Arriving at the door, the two met the twin maids of the Tsuihara estate,Haine and Kokone, and learned that Tsuihara seemed to be sleeping, and the entrance door was locked by him.
Worried that Tsuihara might have been assassinated by the tattooed player, Yuuki explained the situation and led the group into the Tsuihara estate through an unlocked second-floor window, eventually discovering Tsuihara's corpse.
Yuuki seriously considered calling the police, but this somehow tickled Wool's funny bone. After things calmed down, Wool contacted the organizers to handle the situation.
After considering the circumstances, Wool decided tokillthe tattooed player outside the game to prevent a larger massacre and invited Yuuki to help. Kokone and Haine joined Wool, while Yuuki chose to decline.
On the train ride back, Yuuki tried to take out her IC card, butaccidentally droppedsome change.
Returning home, Yuki found the Commissioner waiting for her. After apologizing to Yuki, the Commissioner received a call from the prosthetic technician and took Yuki for an eye examination, where she learned that her right eye, stabbed by Gara, was gradually losing its sight.
Two weeks after the last game, the Commissioner came to pick up Yuki for the game"HALLOWEEN NIGHT"。Yuki woke up at the venue because she sensed the footsteps of children; through the children's behavior, she quickly understood the basic rules of the game, but was unclear about the clear conditions.
Not long after advancing into the labyrinth, Yuki encountered Haine, who had come to hunt down the killers. She learned that the Tattooed Player, Shion, was also in this game and was informed about the process of Wool's assassination operation. After exchanging information, the two parted ways.
During her exploration, Yuki witnessed three players being killed by children.
Continuing her exploration, Yuki encountered a newbie fat girl who was being robbed by other players; the latter clung to Yuki without listening to reason, seeking help in exchange for half of her candy.
Yuki easily defeated the eight players who were robbing her and took some candy from each of them.
Seeing Yuki's strength, the newbie wanted to become Yuki's apprentice and introduced herself asTamamo. Yuki easily brushed her off and escaped on the pretext that she was too fat and should wait until she lost weight before taking lessons.
After wandering around, Yuki came to a dead end, where she found Haine's corpse and Shion, who had come to vent her rage.
The heavily injured Shion talked to herself, trying to persuade Yuki—the enemy who killed her master—that clearing ninety-nine games was merely self-destruction and meaningless. Yuki was not swayed by this.
Sensing Yuuki's determination, Shion shifted her target and decided to engage Yuuki in combat.
Shion keenly noticed the issue with Yuuki's right eye and successfully used it to gain an advantage.
Just then, a large number of children appeared, and the two began scrambling for candy, but in the end, neither made it in time for the candy-giving time limit.
The two ran toward a gap in the dead end. Yuuki predicted Shion's sneak attack and counterattacked, leaving her to be "tricked" by the children while she herself barely managed to hold out until the game ended.
Afterward, as the 「Spectator」 who watched the game, Kokone found Yuuki and expressed her gratitude. As a reward for punishing Shion, Kokone introduced Yuuki, who was gradually losing sight in her right eye, to a 「player who can complete games even while totally blind」。
About a month after the game, after 47 clears, Yuuki unexpectedly saw a truly slimmed-down Tamamo in front of her apartment.Yuuki, belonging to the "Wanted Criminal" faction, approached the town gate relatively smoothly and encountered Hakushi from the opposing faction there. Because Yuuki mistakenly believed the wooden wall could block bullets, and because Hakushi could easily dodge her attacks, she was eventually knocked unconscious and taken away by Hakushi.
Because Yuuki had killed many people, the remaining "Sheriffs" didn't need her bounty, and Yuuki miraculously survived. On the way back, Hakushi invited Yuuki to be his apprentice. Yuuki eventually accepted Hakushi's invitation. To prepare lessons for Tamamo, Yuuki visited her master Hakushi again. Upon hearing that Yuuki planned to seek apprenticeship with the blind player Rinrin, Hakushi gave her a meaningful warning.
A few days later, Yuuki and Tamamo arrived at the isolated island prepared by Rinrin. To effectively teach Yuuki, Rinrin held a mock game where Yuuki needed to find a boat and a key on the island to escape while being hunted by Rinrin.
After escaping from Rinrin, Yuuki's location was exposed by her phone's Bluetooth. After the three confronted and tested each other, Rinrin left.
At night, Yuuki hides in the house waiting for Rinrin's attack, and guessing she would use flashbangs, she prepares in advance. After Rinrin's plan fails, she turns to chase Tamamo, whom Yuuki had ordered to leave the house and wait for her. Yuuki, worried about her, leaves the house and is ambushed by Rinrin. Tamamo saves Yuuki.
Four months after Tamamo became Yuuki's apprentice, Yuuki ended their master-disciple relationship on the grounds that she had "nothing left to teach."
Before participating in the 62nd game, the vision in Yuuki's right eye had almost dropped to zero. However, since the team members in the 62nd game were all players with fewer than 30 games, Yuuki had to step onto the field herself. Relying on the gap in experience, Yuuki finished the battles quickly and successfully won 8 consecutive matches.
During the 9th match, because Tamamo, who was on the opposing team, revealed the weakness of Yuuki's right eye to Yuuki's opponent Shishirou, Shishirou ambushed her left eye just as Yuuki was about to win. This not only forced her to surrender but also caused her to temporarily lose all vision.
At the end of the 16th battle, "Team 5," having lost Yuuki, had a record of "7 wins and 9 losses" and needed to win two more matches. Yuuki was forced to take the field again, winning one duel by relying on her hearing, and faced Tamamo in the next.
Tamamo took advantage of an opening by announcing her identity to the blind Yuuki and pierced her. Yuuki then headbutted Tamamo at the cost of being seriously injured, knocking her down and completely suppressing her.
Due to the surrender rules, for both teams to survive, Yuuki had to kill Tamamo. Yuuki ultimately forced herself to kill her own apprentice.
On the starting platform, Yumena woke up the soundly sleeping Yuuki, who was completely unaware of her situation. Under Yumena's explanation and guidance, the two began to challenge the initial log-jumping stage. Near the end, due to a lack of enough logs, Yuuki and Yumena separated. Yumena chose to take a detour, while Yuuki performed a direct, extreme jump and successfully cleared the stage.
In the second stage, the barbed wire fence, while waiting during a gap in the arguments of those ahead, Yuuki chatted with Yumena about how they came to join the game. Yuuki, who had just quit her previous job, had been brought into the game by an official who claimed she was "suited for the game world," while she herself knew nothing about it.
In the suspension bridge stage, players decided their order by drawing lots and crossed one by one, but it was still not Yuuki's turn when only one bridge remained. However, Kanade, who was too terrified to move, occupied the last bridge. After other players' attempts to talk to Kanade failed, Yuuki took the initiative to step onto the bridge, pushed Kanade off, and reached the other side herself. Facing pressure from Kanade's older sister Shizuku, Yuuki acted as if nothing had happened.
In the final key-finding stage, Yuuki was very lucky to be the first to find a key in the ball pit. After leaving information for the other players, Yuuki passed through the door and successfully completed the game.
After the game ended, Yuuki, out of wariness, waited at the exit for Yukina to finish before leaving together. During their conversation, Yuuki revealed that she had thought the game was just some kind of entertainment program where people wouldn't actually die, leaving Yukina—who had survived thanks to Yuuki's encouragement—not knowing whether to laugh or cry. After this, Yukina changed her appearance and became Yuuki's Agent.
After that, Yuuki felt that she might have a talent for this and chose to continue being a Player.Haunted by a phantom, Yuuki attempted to negotiate with it and recalled her first game.
The phantom accused the current Yuuki of being weak and pathetic, claiming it would replace her and take over her body. Yuuki tried to resist but found that the phantom could unilaterally touch and attack her. She fled her home and sought help from her Agent, temporarily escaping the phantom by injecting sleeping pills. Yuuki commissioned her Agent to collaborate with Rinrin to hold a simulated game, "SNOW ROOM," to face off against the phantom.
In the simulated game "SNOW ROOM," players were forbidden from attacking each other and needed to find Yuuki's tracksuit and leave the area, allowing Yuuki to compete fairly with the phantom. Through continuous exploration and gathering hints, Yuuki deduced that the first stage required solving magic squares based on the room numbers to obtain a password. Although she fell behind the phantom, Yuuki managed to solve the first stage's magic square without further incident, thanks to the knowledge she gained at night school.
In the second stage, Yuuki obtained an electric lantern from a treasure chest and navigated through traps to reach the quiz area. Startled by a sudden alarm, Yuuki reached the final treasure chest quickly at the cost of severing her left hand. The phantom, who had arrived at the chest first, accidentally fell into a trap, allowing Yuuki to obtain the tracksuit required for victory and realize that she actually "has many people to rely on."
However, due to modifications Rinrin made to the game, the "no violence" rule was lifted at that moment, forcing Yuuki into a chase with the phantom. Before the exit, the "phantom" caught up and grabbed Yuuki's hair. Yuuki used the machine gun at the exit to "kill" the phantom, who was near the exit but did not have the tracksuit.
After the game ended, she asked her Agent to cut her long hair and visited her master, Shiroushi, confirming that it was she who had played the "phantom" in the game.
