Rin Tohsakais from the game "Fate/stay night》and other TYPE-MOON works and their derivatives, the second story
of Tokiomi Tohsaka, the successor of a mage familyDaughter, the biological older sister of Sakura Matou, inherited the Tohsaka family'sStay elegant, don't be lewd"Always stay elegant" family motto.
Classmate of Shirou Emiya, Master of Archer in the Fifth Holy Grail War (becomes Saber's Master after Archer's betrayal and the cancellation of the contract in the UBW route), her father was killed by his disciple Kirei Kotomine during the Fourth Holy Grail War, after which Kirei Kotomine became her guardian (though Rin was unaware). After the Fifth Holy Grail War, she went toLondonto study abroad at the Clock Tower.
The current head of the prestigious Tohsaka family of mages with a long history, the Tohsaka ancestorNagato Tohsaka's grandmaster [Wizard Marshall Zelretch—Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg] is the user of the Second Magic, and the Tohsaka family has been the administrators ofFuyuki Citythis land for generations. She is the male protagonist'sShirou Emiyaschoolmate and an honor student. In fact, as early as middle school, while Rin was visiting another middle school (the one Shirou attended) as the student council vice president to handle related matters, she happened to see Shirou high jumping, which left a deep impression on her.
A perfect girl who possesses all the qualities of excellent grades, elegant appearance, and good conduct,Beautiful girl。but she isFlat Chest, though this depends on who she is compared to; compared to Saber, she isn't flat-chested, but compared to Sakura Matou, she is, and she has been mocked by Sakura for it multiple times,, and is famous for this. In public, her speech and behavior are elegant, and she uses honorifics with everyone; her actual personality is described by Shirou Emiya as a redDemon. She has low blood pressure, her state when waking up early is like sleepwalking, and she can skip breakfast in the morning to maintain her figure.
Only a few of her close friends (or rivals) know that her true nature is actually a prank-loving, crush-teasinglittle devil. She is a naturally giftedMagician, in the Fifth Holy Grail War, as one of the seven Masters, she intended to summon Saber, but because she thought she was an hour early and the wavelength was wrong, she summonedArcher. However, the original author Kinoko Nasu stated: even if the time were correct, as long as it is Rin in Fuyuki, she can only summon Archer.
She aims purely for victory and fights only for the honor of the Tohsaka family, having never considered what to do after obtaining the Holy Grail.
In terms of magecraft alone, she has strong combat power, and her instantaneous destructive power can even be comparable to an A-rank Noble Phantasm. In the Fate route, she used 3 gems to distract Berserker and 5 gems to take one of Berserker's lives; since God Hand grants immunity to attacks below B-rank, these 5 gems are at least at the level of an A-rank Noble Phantasm. In the UBW route, she briefly traded blows with Caster, who possesses High-Speed Incantation (though Caster was only playing around), and used up seven of her one-year-worth mana gems in the process. She was considered by Caster to be a rare powerhouse among modern magi.
She has a significant role in all three routes. Unlike her sister, who is only a protagonist in her own route, Rin is a key character who drives the plot in all three routes, though this also means her appearances in her own route are not significantly more frequent than in the others. She is also the person who gives Shirou
After entering the Clock Tower in the Fate route, she becomes a student of Lord El-Melloi II; in the UBW route, she enters the Clock Tower with Shirou and becomes a student of Lord El-Melloi II; in the HF route, she is taken as a disciple by Zelretch.
Regarding Magic Circuits, Rin's main circuits number forty, with thirty auxiliary circuits each, totaling one hundred. She can drive three types of magecraft simultaneously even without using Jewel Magecraft. The mental image for opening her circuits is that of a knife piercing her heart.ShirouAfter mana transferonce said that Rin's normal magical energy is around five hundred, and with a supply, it might exceed a thousand. The magical energy limit of Lord Trambelio, one of the strongest magi in the Clock Tower, is 2000, so Rin is exceptionally gifted as a magus.
In terms of attributes, she is a genius possessing all five great elements (Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, Ether) and has compatibility with most types of magecraft. In "The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II", her teacherLord El-Melloi IIThinking in reverse, he pointed out that Rin can interfere with most existing magecraft.
NasuOnce commented: Rin is truly a genius; after she grows up, she might be able to enter theMage's Associationtop hundred throughout history. If expressed purely in numerical values,Ciel: 100, Rin: 70–100, something like that.
Magecraft used:
Jewel Magecraft
Note: If combined with Luvia's set Flame Shot X-Burst, it can be strengthened into "Flame-Colored Storm" ——FklSeason 1 Episode 4
The eldest daughter of Tokiomi Tohsaka, the head of the Tohsaka family—a mage lineage with a two-hundred-year history that manages the Fuyuki territory. Her mother is Aoi Zenjou, also a descendant of a mage family.
She is one-quarter Finnish. During the Third Holy Grail War, the Edelfelt sisters who participated had a falling out; as a result, the elder sister returned to Finland, while the younger sister remained in Fuyuki and married into the Tohsaka family, making Rin her granddaughter. Therefore, she is a distant cousin of Luvia, the current head of the Edelfelt family.
The magecraft of a magus family can only be inherited by one child, while the other children either have no contact with magecraft at all or are sent to other magus families as adopted children. Because the Matou family was ill-suited to the environment after arriving in Fuyuki, their bloodline gradually declined, and they could no longer produce an heir with Magic Circuits. Thus, they proposed to the Tohsaka family to take one of the two sisters as an adopted daughter. Tokiomi felt that in this way, Sakura would not have to stay away from the world of magecraft, and the Matou magecraft would also fall into the hands of the Tohsakas, which was a win-win outcome. Furthermore, Tokiomi anticipated that he might not return from participating in the Holy Grail War, so he sent Sakura to the Matou family, while Rin was raised as the heir to the Tohsaka family, learning Jewel Magecraft, the conversion of power, and the Tohsaka family motto of "Always remain elegant."As well as the special skill of dropping the ball and making blunders at critical moments.。
Before the Fourth Holy Grail War, Tokiomi sent his family out of Fuyuki City for their safety. Because her classmates were kidnapped by the Master-Servant pair of Ryuunosuke Uryuu and Caster, Rin later sneaked back into Fuyuki alone, destroyed Caster's mystic code, and rescued her classmates and the abducted children(This is an original plot point from the Fate/Zero anime; in the novel, Rin failed to save her classmates and suffered severe psychological trauma. Ufotable risked being criticized by Urobuchi fans just to fix Rin, truly a studio of Rin fans). Before departing, Tokiomi told Rin about the mission of the Fifth Holy Grail War.
During the Fourth Holy Grail War, Tokiomi Tohsaka was killed in actionwasKirei Kotominemurder, and her mother, Aoi Zenjou, was also strangled to the point of suffocation by Kariya Matou, resulting in disability, and passed away shortly thereafter. Rin inherited Tokiomi's Magic Crest and, at Tokiomi's funeral, acceptedKirei Kotomine's guardianship, learning Bajiquan from him and receiving the Azoth Sword as a gift. Since Tokiomi died before finishing teaching the Tohsaka family's magecraft, Rin could only teach herself through the family's collection of books, which also fostered her independent and strong character.
In middle school, Rin andIssei Ryuudouwere classmates; Issei was the Student Council President, and Rin was the Vice President. Spending several years together made Issei strongly dislike women, especially Rin, and he later repeatedly advised Shirou to keep his distance from her. During middle school, Rin happened to seea certain red-haired idiotrepeatedly trying and
On the morning of January 31st, Rin went to school early and met her friendAyako Mitsuzuri, from whom she learned that her clock was an hour fast. Afterward, she observed the training at the Archery Club and ruthlessly rejectedShinji Matou's flirting.
At 1:00 AM that night, Rin performed a Heroic Spirit summoning at her home without a catalyst. She originally intended to summon Saber, but due to being an hour early and the wavelengths not matching (as she believed), she ended up summoningArcher. The summoned Servant mocked her relentlessly from the start, and in her anger, Rin used a Command Spell to force him to obey her every word.
The following night, while Rin and Archer were investigating the school, they encountered another Servant who was also scouting the schoolLancer. After a brief skirmish between Archer and Lancer, Lancer spotteda witnessand broke off the fight to silence him. Rin and Archer arrived shortly after, finding him with only a breath of life left. She originally intended to give the poor soul a proper burial and look after his family, but when she turned his face over, she discovered it was an acquaintance of hers.
| “ | Don't be like this... Why does it have to be you, on this day, at this time... | ” |
Rin took out the Tohsaka family's heirloom jewel pendant and used the magical energy within to revive the student who had been silenced, leaving the now-depleted pendant at the scene. After waking up, the revived student kept the pendant with him.
After Archer "returned" the pendant to Rin and told her that Lancer would not let a witness live, the Master and Servant followed Lancer to a Japanese-style residence, just as the seventh Master of the Holy Grail War—Shirou Emiyathrough a twist of fate, summoned the ServantSaberand repelled Lancer. Afterwards, depending on Shirou's choice, the story will enter the Fate route, the Unlimited Blade Works route, or the Heaven's Feel route.
Saber severely wounded the caught-off-guard Archer with a single strike, and in a panic, Rin used a Command Spell to recall Archer in spirit form. After Shirou told Saber not to attack Rin, Rin explained the basics of the Holy Grail War to Shirou and took him toKirei Kotomine's church.
After Shirou decided to participate in the Holy Grail War, the three of them emerged from the church, only to find another Master, Illyasviel von Einzbern, and her ServantBerserkerBerserker had already been waiting for a long time. Berserker suppressed Saber in battle with absolute strength advantage. After Shirou took a blow for Saber and was nearly cut in half, Illya lost interest and decided to leave. Afterwards, Rin and Saber sent the unconscious Shirou back to the Emiya residence and waited until he woke up, making a pact to join forces with him. Before leaving, she gave Saber a set of blue and white western clothes, which were originally items Kotomine would give her every year on her birthday. The 2006 anime version changed this part to the corresponding content of the UBW route.
On the seventh day, to protect Sakura, Rin reached an agreement with her: Sakura would not come to the Emiya residence for a week, and in exchange, Rin would move out after a week.
Shinji MatouHe began to contact Rin and Shirou separately at school and proposed an alliance, but was rejected by both, and in anger ordered his ServantRiderto activate the Blood Fort at school, eventually being repelled by Shirou and Saber. Afterwards, Rider was defeated by Saber releasing her Noble Phantasm on top of a skyscraperSword of Promised Victoryand was killed.
After Rider was eliminated, Illya kidnapped Shirou to Einzbern Castle. Rin took Archer and Saber, who lacked magical energy due to releasing her holy sword, to rescue Shirou. Shirou was successfully rescued, but they were cornered by Illya and Berserker while retreating from Einzbern Castle, so Rin could only have Archer stay behind to cover their retreat. Archer fought a hard battle against Berserker, and although he eliminated six of Berserker's lives, he was eventually destroyed. In the 2006 anime version, Archer did not return the pendant and kept it until his exit; after he was eliminated, only the pendant remained in the giant crater. In order to restore Saber's combat power to defeat Berserker, Rin led a 3P session between herself, Shirou, and Saber toMana Transfer
After dawn, Rin hid in the Einzbern forest while Shirou and Saber engaged Berserker in direct combat. Rin used her treasured gems in an ambush to kill one of Berserker's lives with a headshot, but failed to incapacitate him; instead, she was caught by Berserker and only survived thanks to a gem on her abdomen. At the critical moment, Shirou projected the Golden Sword of Promised Victory he had seen in his dreams and, together with Saber, killed seven of Berserker's lives to eliminate him. Illya, having lost her Servant, was taken home by Shirou.
Afterwards, while Shirou was in contact with Kotomine andGilgameshothers, Rin stayed at the Emiya residence to look after Illya. In the 2006 anime version,CasterCaster kidnapped Sakura to Ryudoji Temple and set up a dragnet; while Shirou, Saber, and Rin were confronting Caster, Caster was killed by the suddenly appearing Gilgamesh.
On the final day, Kotomine came to the house, kidnapped Illya, and seriously injured Rin. When Shirou returned home, he saw only Rin covered in blood. She fainted after handing the Azoth Sword to the returning Shirou.
Ultimately, Shirou defeated Kotomine, and Saber also defeated Gilgamesh and destroyed the Greater Grail, disappearing with the wind after confessing her love to Shirou. Shirou returned to his life before the Holy Grail War, while Rin went to study abroad at the Clock Tower in London, England, after graduation.
Just as the name suggests, the UBW route is the home field for Rin and Archer.
When the two encountered Saber and Shirou, Shirou used a Command Spell to make Saber stop, after which the plot followed the same path as the Fate route. However, when facing Berserker, because Archer still retained his combat power, the fight was much easier than in the Fate route. Saber used a point-blank Strike Air to take one of Berserker's lives, and Archer used Broken Phantasm to kill another of Berserker's lives. In reality, he intended to use a weapon of mass destruction to kill Shirou, who was present, along with the enemy, so Illya decided to retreat.
After sending Shirou back to the Emiya residence, Rin stated that they would be enemies the next time they met. When Shirou arrived at school at dusk without Saber, showing no sense of danger, he was attacked by Rin, but they called a temporary truce due to the presence of a barrier and another Servant in the school.
After Rider was eliminated at school and Shinji fled, Rin and Shirou realized there was another Master in the school.
Shirou was abducted to Ryudou Temple by Caster's magecraft; Archer arrived to save him and drove Caster back, but slashed Shirou, severely wounding him, as he was preparing to leave. Upon learning of this, Rin used a Command Spell to order Archer not to harm Shirou or Saber.
Since Caster was lurking at Ryudou Temple, Rin first suspected Issei, who lived there. After Shirou verified that Issei was not a Master, the two focused on the one who also lived at Ryudou Temple,Souichirou Kuzukithe teacher. The two and Saber ambushed Kuzuki-sensei on his way home and confirmed that he was Caster's Master. After a hard-fought battle, Shirou only narrowly escaped death by temporarily awakening his Projection magecraft ability.
Caster kidnapped the one who had gone to the mountain behind Ryudou Temple toKiritsugu's,visit the grave, Fujimura-sensei. She set up a barrier to ambush the trio on their way home from an outing. Ultimately, Saber was taken by Caster using her Noble Phantasm, Rule Breaker. Caster went on to "eliminate" Kirei Kotomine at the church and made it her base of operations, attempting to tame Saber. Rin decided to break her alliance with the Saber-less Shirou and expel him from the Holy Grail War to protect him. Later, she stormed the church with Archer, but Archer defected on the spot; Rin was eventually released as part of a deal between Archer and Caster. After returning home, Rin discovered the issue of Shirou's pendant and Archer's pendant existing simultaneously, finally realizing Archer's true identity.
Having both lost their Servants, Shirou and Rin decided to seek help from Illya, but upon arrival, they only witnessed Berserker being killed by Gilgamesh and Illya dying after having her eyes slashed and her heart gouged out. After burying Illya, the two encountered Lancer, who was acting freely; out of his favor for Rin, Lancer decided to lend them a hand. The three went to the church together, where Lancer suppressed Archer at the main gate while Rin and Shirou fought Caster and Kuzuki-sensei. Although Rin threatened Caster with her Bajiqu

After learning that Gilgamesh had used Shinji as the core of the Holy Grail, Rin and Shirou decided to storm Ryuudou Temple. Among the three, only Shirou had the best chance of countering Gilgamesh, but he lacked sufficient magical energy to deploy Unlimited Blade Works, that night, after Rin and Shirou performed a mana transfer, they established a magical connection。
On the final day, Rin, Shirou, and Saber arrived at Ryuudou Temple. Saber wasAssassinStopped, Shirou faces Gilgamesh, while Rin does her best to stop the Holy Grail and rescue Shinji. Ultimately, Rin rescues Shinji with Archer's help, Shirou defeats Gilgamesh, and Saber destroys the Great Holy Grail with her holy sword. After the Holy Grail disappears, Rin says goodbye to the fading Archer and promises him that she will take care of "himself."
In the True Ending "Brilliant Years," Saber disappears along with the destruction of the Holy Grail. Rin and Shirou confirm their relationship and head to the Clock Tower in London together after graduating high school. Due to their ill-fated connection with Luvia, they move into Luvia's apartment together. One day, the two travel to Glastonbury to say a final farewell to Saber. After returning to the Clock Tower, Shirou declines the invitation to join the Mages' Association and decides to travel the world to realize his ideals, while Rin remains at the Clock Tower, reuniting with Shirou three years later. Fate Material II states that as long as Rin is by Shirou's side, Shirou will not follow Archer's path.
In the Good Ending "Sunny Days," Saber remains in the world through Rin's magical energy, continuing to watch over Shirou and Rin's future while searching for her own answers in the world.
The early progression is the same as the Fate route, but when Rin suggests teaming up with Shirou to fight Berserker, Shirou does not accept because he does not want to fight Illya.
Since Caster, who should have disappeared after losing her Master and being defeated, reappears and is controlled by Zouken, Shirou accepts the truce proposed by Rin.
Shinji Matou captures Sakura to coerce Shirou into fighting Rider at school, but Rin appears and drives Shinji back, pointing out that Sakura is Rider's true Master and also Rin's younger sister.
Rin intends to kill Sakura to protect innocent people, but Shirou instead gives up his original dream of being an "Ally of Justice" and chooses to become Sakura's protector.
Eventually, the two reach a reconciliation, with Rin moving into the Emiya residence to help care for/monitor Sakura, who is protected by Shirou.
Afterward, the group discusses teaming up with Illya, but upon arriving at Einzbern Castle, they find that Zouken Matou has already breached the castle. Ultimately, Rin and Shirou manage to rescue Illya and escape, but Shirou loses an arm, Berserker is swallowed by the black mud, and Archer is severely corrupted, transplanting his remaining left arm to Shirou to save his life.
When Sakura is violated by Shinji, the dark emotions in her heart explode. She completely blackens, goes berserk, and heads to the Emiya residence to take Illya. Rin tries to protect Illya but is heavily injured by the Shadow and must return to the Tohsaka residence for treatment. During this time, she finds the blueprint for the Jeweled Sword and has Shirou project the Jeweled Sword using the Azoth Dagger as a base. After Shirou and Kotomine work together to rescue Illya, the three collaborate to create the projected Jeweled Sword.
During the final battle in the Great Cavern beneath Ryuudou Temple, Rin uses the infinite magical energy provided by the Jeweled Sword to trade magical blasts with Dark Sakura, successfully suppressing her. However, she still cannot bring herself to deliver the killing blow and is injured by Sakura. After opening her heart and calling back Sakura's conscience, she loses consciousness and faints.
At this time, Shirou and Rider team up to defeat Saber Alter. Shirou projects Caster's Noble Phantasm, Rule Breaker, to sever the connection between Sakura and Avenger, and the two sisters are rescued by Rider.
In the Normal Ending "Sakura's Dream," Shirou's body and soul are destroyed after he projects the holy sword to destroy the Great Holy Grail. After the Holy Grail War, Rin revives the Tohsaka family and has an heir. Due to her Spartan education, this heir sometimes runs off to the Emiya residence, where Sakura lives alone, under the pretext of learning from her to find some peace and quiet.
In the True Ending "Spring Song," when Shirou is about to project the holy sword to destroy the Great Holy Grail, he is stopped by Illya. She activates the Third Magic at the cost of her own consciousness, materializing Shirou's soul and closing the gate of the Great Holy Grail. Although Shirou, Sakura, and Rin are all eventually saved, the fact that the Great Holy Grail descended and the Swirl of the Root appeared and then vanished instantly becomes known to the Clock Tower's Mages' Association, and Rin is forced to travel to London for a hearing. However, at this time, the former Marshal of MagicZelretchbut suddenly appeared and protected Rin on the condition of taking her as a disciple. Afterwards, Rin helped Sakura sell off the Matou family assets and found in Russiaa certain Grand-ranked puppet masterand purchased a blank puppet from her, placing Shirou's soul into it to help him resurrect. After the story ended, Rin went to study at the Mages' Association for a year, returning to Fuyuki a year later to view cherry blossoms with Sakura, Shirou, and Rider.
Rin is one of the instigators of FHA. Because her experiment with the Second Magic failed, it caused all of Fuyuki to fall into a state of space-time chaos, which combined with Bazett's wish "not to die" and her contract with Avenger to create a false four-day loop in Fuyuki.
Rin does not appear in the early part of the story, only returning from London after Sakura wrote her a letter, and she is the first person in the Emiya residence to express suspicion about the four-day loop.
During the operation where Shirou ascends the Stairway to the Moon, Rin and Archer intercept the remnants together on the Fuyuki Bridge.
AtSvin GlascheitAfter graduating, Rin, newly arrived at the Clock Tower, became the new troublemaker of the El-Melloi Classroom. She simultaneously studies Modern Magecraft under Lord El-Melloi II and Mineralogy. Because El-Melloi II knows about the Holy Grail War, he deliberately, in the classes Rin attends, letGraymaintain avoidance.
During a certain summer vacation, she went to Singapore and hired a group of teenage pirates planning to salvage Zheng He's sunken ship to obtain the antiques on board, but in the end, the ship was transformed into a bone ship and sunk by Gray using the Holy Spear Rhongomyniad.
Rin in the FE worldline is not the same person as the Rin in the main series, but rather an illegitimate child born from Tokiomi Tohsaka's affair while studying in England, which is why her hair is blondeand her bust is also larger. She has never been to Japan nor attended school, but instead joined a terrorist organization opposing the Western European Zaibatsu that rules the world, becoming a wanted criminal.
Relying on Spiritron Hacking techniques, Rin became one of the 128 participants in the Moon Holy Grail War and summoned the Servant Cu Chulainn.
In the ending of Rin's route, with theHakuno Kishinamihelp of, Rin left the Moon and returned to Earth, beginning her search for Hakuno's real body in the cryochamber.
In CCC, she was first kidnapped by BB to be a Labyrinth Sentinel. After Hakuno Kishinami conquered the Labyrinth, she joined the Tsukimihara Student Council and provided support for Hakuno, eventually returning to the Holy Grail War on the Near Side of the Moon with Hakuno's help.
When asked by Shirou to help record a program, due to being a tech-illiterate, tsundere, and trying to act tough, she even imagined Shirou hiding adult videos in normal discs. In the end, the program wasn't recorded; instead, the hidden program White Tsukihime was recorded.
The first main FSN character to appear in FGO, she entered the gacha early during the second Christmas event, and later inSeventh Singularity: Absolute Demonic Front, Babyloniaofficially appeared, as the GoddessIshtarandEreshkigal's vessel. Later, in the Saber Wars II event, a variant ofSpace Ishtarwas also released. Ishtar claims that the ratio of the girl's personality to the goddess's personality is roughly 3:7.
Ten years after the Holy Grail War, Lord El-Melloi II and the head of the Tohsaka family visited Fuyuki City together. Because the Mage's Association planned to revive the Greater Grail and the Holy Church was also involved, the matter escalated into a major disturbance comparable to a Holy Grail War. After the incident, the Greater Grail was completely dismantled, and the Fuyuki Holy Grail War came to an end here.

She likes cats, and the pattern on her pajamas is also cats. Having grown up alone since childhood, she is a master of cooking, particularly skilled in Chinese cuisine, but she struggles with Japanese food at home, being inferior to Shirou and Sakura.
She has a good relationship with Ayako Mitsuzuri at school; their relationship is a competitive friendship, and they once competed to see who could find a boyfriend first. Ayako had her younger brother Minori pretend to be her boyfriend, but Rin saw through it instantly.
Besides magecraft, she also constantly exercises because she studies Bajiquan.
She is poor in terms of both her figure and her finances.
In reality, Rin is not poor in the conventional sense. The Tohsaka family are the landlords of Fuyuki, and their real estate combined with the magecraft patents invented by Tokiomi ensures a considerable annual income for the family. However, the Tohsaka family's magecraft requires a large number of gems, and as the head of the family, Rin believes it is shameful not to find other ways to make money. Additionally, during Kotomine's time as Rin's guardian, he managed the estate poorly and sold off many of the Tohsaka family's valuable assets, exacerbating Rin's poverty.
She has made many efforts to alleviate her financial problems, such as befriending the daughter of a gem merchant to get discounts when buying gems. She also tricked Shirou into projecting famous paintings to scam money. Every year during holidays, she works as a shrine maiden at the Fuyuki shrine. When she gave her hair ribbons to Sakura, she even charged her 3% interest, though she didn't actually want her to pay but rather wanted Sakura to be indebted to her.
In CCC, although her experiences differ, Rin, whose personality is almost identical, has "Mammonism" as her second SG as a Labyrinth Sentinel. She set up the "
In "The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II," after developing a new magecraft for projecting gems, she no longer needs to spend money to buy gems every time, and her financial problems have finally been partially resolved. However, large-scale magecraft, such as the Pseudo-Petal Shield appearing in the third volume, still requires spending real money on gems.。
A total technological illiterate. In FHA, she doesn't know how to use a cell phone, and in Carnival Phantasm, she can't use a VCR. Any electronic device with more than ten buttons drives her crazy. Tokiomi lived through the pre-information age and could substitute modern electronics with various magecraft, but Rin can only barely adapt, especially when living at Shirou's house.
In the UBW anime, the phone in the Tohsaka residence was changed to a push-button type.Presumably, the production team felt that with Rin's intelligence, it was impossible for her to not understand such simple household appliances.。
At the Clock Tower, because she knew nothing about Akihabara or video games, she was scolded by the gamer geek El-Melloi II: "Fxxk! You're the worst Japanese person ever!"
A textbook tsundere character.
Her usual disguise is that of a perfect honor student young lady, but after getting to know her, one discovers she is actually a "little devil" who is very good at teasing people, and the honest Shirou and Issei are tormented miserably by her. Issei even finds it difficult to acknowledge her as a human being. However, only Shirou, who has spent the most time with her, can discover her shy and conservative nature. She is the most conservative both emotionally and sexually; in the UBW route, she never honestly confesses her feelings to Shirou, and during mana replenishment, she even refuses to take off her clothes.。
Main article:It's all Tokiomi's fault
Because of Tokiomi's early death, Rin was unable to come into contact with the inhuman world of mages as seen through Tokiomi's eyes, which is why the Rin in the main story exists. To Rin, Tokiomi was an excellent father and mage, but she failed to understand Tokiomi's coldness as a magus.
If Tokiomi had truly lived until she could come into contact with that world, Rin's personality would likely have been completely different from the main story—either she would have abandoned the path of magecraft out of disgust for that world due to her inherently good nature, or she would have become the magus Tokiomi envisioned: a perfect and cold witch.
